Bulk planning

Bulk Inventory Planner

Upload a CSV of SKUs and review stockout timing, reorder points, and recommended order quantities for the whole list in one table. Every calculation runs locally in your browser.

Planning estimates for one SKU are available in the Reorder Planner.

How the result is calculated

Each row is calculated independently with the same conservative logic as the Reorder Planner:

  • On-hand days = on-hand units ÷ average daily sales; the estimated stockout date is today plus the whole days of cover.
  • Reorder point = average daily sales × supplier lead time. The bulk schema has no per-SKU safety-stock column, so the reorder point here is lead-time demand only; add your buffer when reviewing.
  • Projected inventory at PO arrival = on-hand − (sales × lead time), plus confirmed inbound only when it arrives by the new PO arrival.
  • Recommended order = target (sales × target coverage) − projected inventory, floored by MOQ and rounded up to whole case packs.
  • Estimated purchase cost = recommended order × unit cost; blank unit cost leaves it unavailable.

Assumptions

Blank inbound quantity means zero. Arrival days are required whenever inbound quantity is greater than zero and are ignored otherwise. All timing is an estimate in whole days and does not guarantee same-day receiving. Results are planning estimates from the numbers in your file, not purchase instructions.

When not to rely on this result alone

Demand in the file is treated as constant, and lead time as fixed, for every SKU. Seasonality, promotions, shelf life, storage limits, cash constraints, and supplier reliability are not modeled here.

Review each “Order now” row before purchasing, especially high-cost lines. Rows with warnings need a second look; rows with errors are excluded from recommendations until fixed.

FAQ

Bulk planner questions

Where is my CSV sent?

Nowhere. The file is read by your browser with the FileReader API, calculated locally, and never uploaded. Closing the tab clears everything.

What happens to rows with errors?

They appear in the table with the reason in the warning column and are excluded from recommendations. Fix the values and reload; nothing is silently dropped.

Why is the reorder point here different from the Reorder Planner?

The bulk CSV schema has no safety-stock column, so the reorder point is lead-time demand only. Compare with the planner, which includes your safety-stock input.
